The Callanetics exercise programme was invented by Callan Pinckney with the purpose of curing her back and knee pain after the ex-ballerina (having returned from 11 years of backpacking through the world with a backpack havier than herself) was told by her doctor that she could never exercise again. Callan didn't only find a way to cure her body, but she also noticed that her body shaped and tightened up in no time and itwas stronger than ever before. Callanetics is a no-impact exercise programme based on Yoga and Ballet. It consists of small repetitive movements that target the body's deep and core muscles giving you rapid results in terms of body shape, strength, flexibility and also curing a variety of aches and pains. As the exercises are based on correct body alignment and as you learn to isolate your muscles, you will experience standing taller and be much more aware of your body and your posture right after the first session. The exercises are gentle and they put no pressure on the cardiovascular system, they can be done by every body, age and fitness level, yet still challenge even the strongest. Warning!
